With the present dominance of social bookmarking on the net, you will take note that even when this is gaining prominence, not the majority of net users and even webmasters are seemingly aware as to how these social bookmarking sites are operating. If we are going to dissect social bookmarking, you will take note that a few essential terms are present.

First is the word bookmarking. We all know in computer term, bookmarking is when a site marked as a frequently visited site and bookmark it, you can easily find it the next you want to access it as it is on your bookmarked sites. Second is the word social. With social bookmarking, it allows anyone who socially bookmarked a site to share it to someone he knows on the net, thus the term social. Therefore, If you are looking at social bookmarking, you will take note that it works like a bookmarked site only with a twist. So, if you want to know how you can better do social bookmarking, read on:

a. Allow for your friends and family to bookmark your site and request to them that they share the bookmarked sites to their own set of friends. In this way, you are able to allow your site to crawl and become part of the bookmarked sites of the other people.

b. Bookmark other sites yourself. When you initiate the bookmarking of a site, they will then respond to the action that you have extended to them. This gives you better opportunity to have many more bookmarks on your site.

c. You can seek help from social bookmarking sites by having your own page and site submitted to the site like Onlywire.com and allow for it to be socially bookmarked from the site stated. This works wonders on a social bookmarking site.
